The iconic Mahlstedt Gallery is located in a beautiful neo-classical two-story building.
This historic landmark (2020) was initially built in 1920 for the J. A. Mahlstedt Lumber and Coal
Company, and today houses all 10,000 sqft of dazzling gallery space.

● The positioning of the building, and its back entrance, is what allowed for the space to be used as a lumberyard way back when.
● The building is directly opposite the Solder's Monument on the intersection of Huguenot and Main.
● After the depression, all of Mahlstedt’s businesses were shut down. After that, the building was temporarily used by the U.S. Post Office, the New Rochelle Water Company, and the Landis Hardware Store.
● The building went through a complete restoration in 2010, which allow it to be selected as an official Historic Landmark in 2020.
