"Queen Elizabeth II" is a portrait of a woman who has spent her entire life serving England as Head of State, in a Constitutional Monarchy. Despite her years of formal service, she is also a woman, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother--a human- who has shown a sense of humor and a positive attitude in troubling times. Thus, she is painted with bright, bold colors that reflect her attitude. This painting was done using acrylic paint on canvas using a palette knife for texture.
