Ewao Kagoshima: Today's Catch B

SECONDARY ART

Today’s Catch B portrays a colorful realm in which a heaping can of trash and two dog- or pig-like animals (which appear to be mating) are each on a leash held by a male and female pair of humans. These tethered objects are seated on two larger shapes: one is an earth-like sphere and the other, an encased human foot, the toes of which are clock faces set to various times. Floating by itself is a red sphere like a moon or planet. The background for this scene is textured with small dots in reds, yellows, greens, and blues, and presenting a subtle landscape along the bottom of the piece. This painting is paired with Today's Catch A.

E'wao Kagoshima

E'wao Kagoshima (b.1945 in Japan) is a renowned international painter, sculptor and collage artist of the Japanese Pop Art and Pop Surrealist genres. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including The New Museum, MoMA PS1 and galleries throughout New York City, Tokyo, Osaka, Paris, London, Brussels, and Zurich.
