Alan is an award winning
photographic realist Artist, who creates Steam Punk, fantasy, historical, portraiture,
wildlife and domestic Art. Alan has
exhibited at many shows and exhibitions in the UK.
In recent years,
Alan has migrated to his favorite
subjects; that of historical and fantasy Art.
Alan loves using his imagination to create strange worlds, buildings,
machinery, creatures and people, using a wide range of mediums including oils,
acrylics, pastels, inks, felt pens and graphite.
Alan was happily
producing historical portraits for many of the medieval shows in the UK, when
he discovered Steam Punk. On discovering this, Alan felt like he had arrived
home, as for him it is the ideal mix of history and fantasy which so stimulates
his imagination. The only things that
holds Alan back, is that he cannot get his ideas down quick enough on paper!
Alan's heroes, amongst
many others, are Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, Chris Achilleos and Rembrandt. Alan's painting and
drawing techniques are wide ranging including modern and those of the Old
Masters. Alan lives with his wife
Lesley and dog Jazzie, in the UK on the south coast in Portsmouth, Hampshire, overlooking
the sea, in all its glory.
